Comments: As the world population continues to move to urban centres, growing numbers of people contest a limited supply of space as their place for living. This brings with it a whole range of issues, ranging from environmental sustainability to the living standards and human rights of those at the bottom of the social scale.
Cesar Pesquera collaborated with D-Fuse in the conceptualisation and part of the execution of Surface, a collaborative, on-going audio-visual work, produced by D-Fuse for the onedotzero / british council project "Re-imagining the city", together with local creatives in ten cities across east asia. On arrival, D-Fuse and local artists filmed and recorded aspects of the city, edit them together and then perform the results live. Each city was an exclusive event, growing as the tour progresses.
